BE ON TIME
Have enough respect for your fellow athletes and coaches to arrive on time. We warm-up and review all movements that will be in the workout together as a class. If you are late and miss the warm-up and movement review you will wait until the next scheduled class to workout, or come back during open gym. No exceptions.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve been doing CrossFit for 1 month or 5 years, it’s disrespectful to have your own private conversation or do your own thing when the coach is trying to give instruction to the class. You may know how to perform each movement off the top of your head, but not everyone does, so be patient and quiet and let everyone get the full benefits of the coaches’ instruction.
We not only want you to succeed, we want you to exceed your own expectations and have some fun while you’re doing it. All classes are coach lead, that means the coach is in charge of how the class is structured and run. 100% participation is expected from every athlete.
No one should be “doing their own thing” during a class. If you don’t want to be, or don’t think you need to be coached, please check the schedule for ‘Open Gym’ times and come during those hours.
Children are more than welcome at CrossFit Patriot Way. We will be incorporating a kids program in the near future, so stay tuned for that! However, we also want to keep kids and everyone else in our gym safe. Please make sure your kids stay in the Kids’ Corner and off the gym floor. The Kids’ Corner is equipped with Television, toys and seating but it is not a daycare, nor is it staffed. If children are habitually problematic, parents may be asked to find other arrangements for their child while working out.

IF YOU SWEAT, BLEED OR CRY ON IT, WIPE IT DOWN
Whether it’s on the floor or a piece of equipment please, for everyone’s sake, wipe it down with a paper towel and some disinfectant.
Don’t worry about how you look. Worry about giving 100%. This is a casual gym: no shirt, no shoes, no worries.
IT’S OKAY TO BE LOUD
We are respectful but we are not quiet. It’s totally acceptable to yell, grunt, scream, and cry. Cheer, motivate and push your fellow athletes, no one is in this alone!
KNOW YOUR LIMITS
Crossfit Patriot Way has some non-standard equipment such as our climbing ropes among other things. Do not train above your approved limits on specified equipment. Gravity has a nasty way of reminding us that we are mortal and you signed the waiver so if you’re training above what you are approved for, the only thing you’ll get is broken, booted, or both.
INFORMATION IS CRITICAL
To ensure you are getting the best workout possible and remain injury free, please inform the coaches of past, plaguing or chronic injuries. Just because you love to run, if you’ve had 8 knee surgeries, you should probably only run if something is chasing you, with big teeth, and even then you might consider fighting it. Seriously, our coaches can modify a WOD on the fly to adapt to an athlete’s ability.
We operate without lengthy contracts so you are never held hostage. That being the case, should you need to cancel your membership due to unforeseen circumstances such as injury, moving, job loss, illness etc., we do require a 30 day notice and we will do our best to refund the remaining unused portion of your membership.
CLASS TIMES AND SCHEDULE
Class times and schedule are subject to change as we are a growing business. We try to accommodate as many people as we can with both morning and afternoon classes. Should a class time change be required, we will give a notice of 2 weeks before implementing the change.
